1940s 14k Two-Tone Gold and .23 CTW Diamond Engagement Ring

1940s 14k Two-Tone Gold and .23 CTW Diamond Engagement Ring

Made in post-World War II Austria, this two-tone engagement ring features a bright center diamond flanked by two accent diamonds, all three set within 14k white gold atop a 14k yellow gold shank. The white gold portion of the ring is sculpturally designed to pronounce the geometries of the three stones it holds. The center stone stands proudest from the shank and is accentuated with four corner petal-style prongs that square the diamond and visually brighten its reflectivity.

The shank is softly rounded and tapers toward its bottom, where it was, at one point, resized using 10k solid gold. This three-stone ring sits well within a stack, making it a perfect anniversary or promise ring, if not an engagement ring. It is exemplary of late Art Deco and pre-Mid Century design, traditional in style, timeless in its simplicity and complementary to any collection of jewelry.
