Art Deco Platinum .23 CTW Diamond Double Row Wedding Band

Art Deco Platinum .23 CTW Diamond Double Row Wedding Band

Made of platinum, this nearly quarter-carat half eternity ring was originally intended as a wedding band and features a double row of diamonds that total eighteen in all. Each stone is held in four prongs, inset within the platinum face of the band. The profile views of the ring boast incised details, the placements of which accentuate each diamond. The effect of such accents is something of a scalloped edge around the perimeter of the ring.

Running horizontally across the center of the face of the ring is a band of platinum to separate the top and bottom rows of nine diamonds respectively. The shoulders of the ring come to a point on either side, adding Art Deco interest to its geometric form. The interior of the shank is very clearly marked with the platinum purity within the platinum alloy, a ratio that was popular from the 1880s through the 1940s, at which time other alloys became common as well.

The platinum alloy the makes up this piece is made of 900% solid platinum and 100% iridium. Iridium is the second densest metal and is within the platinum family, and adds strength to jewelry items when combined with platinum, which itself is known for its strength and durability. Both metals are identifiable by their silvery-white coloring, crisper and brighter than white gold which is less valuable and warmer in undertone.

Give this ring to your significant other as a wedding band rich in history, or give new life to this piece by gifting to your partner as an anniversary present. Offer this piece as a symbol of your love to yourself or to someone special, or stack this within your favorite collection of bands. This sparkly number is sure to add iconic Deco intrigue.
